One hangover day, I woke up wearing a t-shirt I hadn't seen before.
Next to the bed there was another pair.

Someone at a pub had been giving these t-shirts away for free… And I had bagged two.

The rabbit was cute.
But what did it say??
“Hooray! It’s Friday!”
In Dutch. Nice.
So I did the obvious:
started wearing them every Friday

Many Fridays passed until one day
I got the chance to move abroad for work.
I decided to leave the extra one for my little brother. This way, we could both wear them on Fridays and, for a second, forget that an ocean now separated us.

And wear them we did. So much that they started to disintegrate.

The Friday pics collection kept growing.
Until someone got jealous.

HIM
Our older brother said, “I want in”.
And the "Hooray, it's Friday" Club got a new signing.

We HAD TO make a new one. We went for a Japanese version.
With the third Friday t-shirt, two rules were set to respect the original design:
-The celebratory text had to be in the language of a country one of us loved.
-The illustration had to include an animal.
And the Ukraine
version was born.

The print quality was off, though.
Quickly, we were in need of
the fourth one:
Turkey!

The Fifth one was easy to pick: it had to be in Georgian (with its beautiful alphabet) and pay homage to our childhood dog.

For the sixth, Italy, because Italy.

Other Fridays will find us travelling
The seventh?
We don’t know yet, but we know it's coming soon.
And there will be others.
Because as long as we can wear t-shirts and Fridays are in calendars, we’ll wear our Friday t-shirt, take a pic and share it with each other.
On some beautiful Fridays, we’ll wear them together.

But no matter where we are, if it's a Friday, we will be wearing our Friday
t-shirt.
Close to our hearts.
